Google Website Translator Gadget

It's like having your very own Babel fish!!!

So then, I've been fiddling around with a few things in the background of my Blog. I'm hoping to do a damn site more of it over the next week or so. However, the first of these changes has been completed. Behold the the magnificent Google Website Translator Gadget!!! We're living in the future baby!!! The idea is a simple one, Google have developed an amazing piece of software that can translate script from one language to another, and it does it pretty bloody well from what I can gather. So I've been meaning to work out if there is a widget or gadget for Blogger for some time now, mainly because I get an awful lot of traffic from foreign lands that do not have English as their mother tongue.

Hopefully this thing will work for all you non-English speakers and make your lives that a little bit easier. It might not but I figure it's better than nothing, and given Google are constantly refining the tool I guess they'll get it sorted eventually. So if you speak Esperanto, Creole or Welsh could you let me know if the damn thing works? If it does could I ask you to simply put yes and whatever language it works for down in the comments section so I know. I would greatly appreciate it if you do. Any who I'm sure some of you are wandering how you add such a wondrous widget to your own Blogs aren't you? Well it's really, really simple, just click on this Link and follow the various instructions. Should take you less than 60 seconds to add it. Easy. Peace out!

    1. Sorry but Google won't allow me to include Martian. I have petitioned them in the strongest terms possible.

  2. No Sindarin, Quenya, Khuzdul, Black Speech of Mordor or Westron?
I find your scope and ambition for this blog limited indeed.

    2. I didn´t know how to post a comment without using the reply option, so please forgive me for that.
Just wanted to say that the German it produces is crap.

On another matter I wanted to say that this blog of yours is really cool.

Oh, yeah and no Klingon as well;)

    3. No worries about the reply thing. There's normally a white comments box at the bottom of the page and you just use that. But I do believe Blogger was having it's monthly hissy fit last night and it wasn't there. So the reply option was probably the only way to post a comment any way. :)

As to the German translation... bugger... I've been told it has trouble with a number of languages, but German wasn't one of them. That's a shame because I get a lot of hits now from Germany so I was hoping it would make their lives a little easier. Sorry!!!

    1. Yeah that's what I thought. But hopefully it's better than nothing at all. It might not be... but I hope it is.

  5. I like the idea of installing language translator to help foreigners that visit the blog. Updating your site by adding this feature can truly break the language barrier that prevented people from reading the contents of it. And how convenient the translator you chose, you can add whatever language you want easily. I hope to see Arabic, Cantonese and Japanese on your site, as they’re said to be the hardest language to learn.
