Just a quick heads up (4)

Cats are graceful dignified crea... oh come on!!!

Yes it's time for me to do yet another quick heads up of various Blogging sites that have recently kept me entertained. First up I simple MUST mention Lauby's tanks, that's a link to his first fully completed Vindicator, and totally spiffing it is too. There's a whole series of cracking WIP articles building up to that glorious final effort, and they're well worth taking a look at to pick up a fair few hints and tips. He's also done a second and third Vindicator, and they also look just as magnificent as the first one he completed. So I guess what I'm saying Lauby is this, I salute you and your efforts sir. Top job! There's another chap who has been given a heads up by me in the past who has also been impressing this here Blogger wth more painted vehicles, this time it's Dwartist and his Vipers from Antenocitis Workshop, simply put another brilliant effort from this really talented painter. Seriously have a quick scoot around Dwartist's Blog and tell me you're not impressed. I bet you can't do it why keeping a straight face and looking me in the eye. Some tip top eye candy!

Talking of more nicely painted stuff, you might want to pop over to Mini Junkie where you can go and see some really nicely painted stuff. However, you don't just get the opportunity to gawp at his really nicely painted miniatures, you can actually buy some of his stuff. But hey I've also stumbled onto some new Blogs this past month or so that go above and beyond mere mortals like us! First up is the Blog of the highly talented sculptor Aragorn Marks. He hasn't updated his Blog since November 2011, but boy does he have a back catalogue of some simply brilliant stuff. Truly you should go give it a look. Next up is yet another truly mesmerisingly talented guy Stéphane Simon. Yep another sculptor! I've been flicking back through his WIP articles and just shaking my head in total disbelief at how stupidly talented some of these people are! Seriously, if it wasn't for these guys efforts and undeniable skill we'd all still be playing with cardboard tokens. I absolutely adore looking at these sorts of Blogs from talented sculptors, so if any of you guys have anymore you think are worth a look, please drop a link in the comments section below.

It's a Spanish site so it has a slightly different perspective, which is always good!

Before I disappear though there is one more Blog I have to tell you about before I disappear because I promised I'd give the author a shout out. Word of warning though the Blog isn't an English language Blog and is written in Spanish. You can however translate the page into whatever language you like using the Google translate function, where you copy a URL and paste it into a Google search bar. Very handy! The name of the Blog is Tabla de Lavar Wargames, now my Spanish isn't that great but I'm sure de Lavar means 'to wash'... so I think strictly speaking the title of the the Blog would be the washing table of wargames. Hopefully it's author Espia Disforme... or the Disformed Spy, will pop along to explain it all to us. If not I'm stumped! Any way I've had a good look around his Blog using Google translate function and I have to say I quite like what I've see, barring the odd Google translate idiosyncrasies 'tomato walls' really?!?!?! Any way Espia Disforme has made it his life goal to selflessly promote the work of Spanish miniature and wargames companies and it's quite a good little resource on all of that if I'm honest. I'm looking to do a series of articles on Spanish companies myself, and I'll be jetting off to Spain this summer and I hope to visit a few, so I've found it useful. But that's not all, Espia Disforme also has a competition for us all to enter. I think it's a pretty simple competition to enter:

  • Be a follower of his Blog.
  • Leave a comment in the comments section.

That's it for another heads up article. These past few weeks haven't been my normal sort of content. I've certainly not put up as many reviews as normal. Hopefully I'll be able to to get back into the swing of things soon and get some stuff up you're all interested in. But, I have still got some other things up my sleeve... so we might not get back to normal for the next week or so. Peace out!

  4. Thank you very much for your mention!

About the name of the blog. Well it's deliberately 'stupid'... The translation would be something like 'Wash board Wargames' It's not an heroic or pompous name, but i think it's weird enough to be remembered! :-P

    Thanks again!
