How to enter prize giveaways on this Blog

Come on... tell me that's not worth winning!!!

Right, I've had an awful lot of concerned folks emailing me desperately asking how they can 'follow' my Blog so they can be in with a chance of winning the sexy Krull miniature. Firstly don't panic there's plenty of time to go yet before I make the prize draw. Well, rather than respond to anymore emails individually I've decided to produce a handy little guide. Just so people are aware here's rundown of how you follow a Blog:

This is in the top right hand corner of the Blog. Hit the Blue button marked "Join this site"

You'll be presented with these following options

Now you can follow a Blog if you have any form of Google account, a Twitter account, Yahoo account, AIM, Netlog or OpenIGD accounts. If you have none of these then you can click on the blue writing at the bottom of the screen shot that says 'create a new Google Account' or if you despise Google with a passion and intensity of a thousand sons go away and create one of the other types of account.

After you've click on to join the site with one of these options it will ask you whether you want to join publicly or privately... this bit is REALLY important... for you to be eligible to win the prize draw you MUST follow the site publicly. Why? Because if you don't I have no idea you're following and will be unable to enter you into the draw because I won't have the foggiest idea who you are. So just to recap:

  • You need to follow my Blog publicly using the method above to be eligible for the draw.
  • The draw will take place on the 13/04/2012 (or for our American friends 04/13/2012).
  • I will be making the draw at 12:00 GMT.
  • Cash alternatives will not be offered (why would you want cash instead of Krull?!?!)

Hopefully that's all been cleared up for some of you now. It's really quite simple, and because of that it's likely to be the method I will be using for future prize draws as well as it's easy on you and it's easy on me. Peace out!

EDIT: If you're viewing my Blog via a mobile device like an Android phone or an iPhone, you'll probably be viewing the mobile version of my Blog. This is a stripped down version of the Blog that is intended to make pages load easier on limited memory devices such as phones. It removes many of the gadgets and stuff that are displayed on my Blog. So if you want to follow my Blog you'll need to click on the pink 'View web version' at the bottom of the page before you can go through the above steps.

  1. I'm not sure what game system that's from, but I'm sure I can bastardize it to make a convincing Bloodthirster...

    1. Matey there's no need to bastardize it at all, it'd make a fricking awesome Bloodthirster as it is. It's not actually from a game yet as such, its from the BaneLegions range, which will ultimately have it's own game. You can read about it in the interview I did with Rob Lane who is behind the range:

  2. Well, I'd need to plonk a few Khorne Icons on him somewhere, but that isn't really much work I suppose.

  4. Obviously, I follow your bog and again, I promise to give Krull a good home if he comes to live with me.

On a somewhat related note, I've developed a bit of a man crush on Ulric the Defiler. So much so that I think I may order him up. The only problem is that I have zero experience with resin. Do you have any hints or tips when it comes to resin? Maybe your extensive network of readers can chime in? I don't want to be problematic but when I'm paying $15 for a single model, I want to be sure I don't wreck it.

    1. Hiya Itchy of course I have a bit of guidance for you. Try here:

      http://thefrontlinegamer.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/working-with-resin-finecast-for-zealots.html

It might have been aimed at Finecast but the principles are the same... although in my opinion the resin used to make BaneLegions mini's is just far superior to Finecast in every conceivable way. If you have any further questions just give me a message. :)

It's honestly a truly magnificent miniature in the flesh. I'm struggling to give people an idea of just how Bloody big he is. Honestly he's ginormous!!!

  6. Good to see the Bane Legions folks pressing to get their name and products out there more. Would hate to see such great quality figures go the way of AT-43.

    1. I will be doing my best to ensure that isn't the case!!! They're utterly magnificent miniatures and it deserves to be successful range, and if his game is any good you know I'll be pimping it out as best I can!!!

  7. Can I make myself ineligible for some prizes? I'm willing to bet most of them could go to someone more deserving than myself. People who actually can get a miniatures game in more than once or twice a year.

    1. Heh, I like never game, but I paint a LOT. If you win it but don't want it, I'll be glad to take it off yer hands ;P

    2. @blackbrunswicker, if you wish to opt out of receiving the prize when your name is drawn that is up to you. However, if I were you I wouldn't opt out of my prize draws as a matter of principle. If you win something you don't want just say so and I'll re=drawn for that prize. Simple. That goes for anyone.

  8. Oh, that's one of the best ones they make too. Nice (big) mini.

  9. Very nice looking mini and awesome of you to give it away.

Only thing I would add to the post is if someone is viewing your blog on a mobile device they will need to click "View web version" at the bottom to see the follower tool.

  10. There after someone else insisted I do this, I followed. Google Friend Connect and Blogger is a dying platform outside of 40K/gaming blogs... Anyway I also add your feed to one of the text files that powers http://news.muschamp.ca

    Cheers,

    1. I think you're right, but niche hobbies and communities thrive off of such links. Blogs like mine in the grand scheme of things are small fry they really, really are and anything that helps get the message out there about what you're doing helps surely? Well I think it does, I mean I often click on followers when they join up to take a look at what they read etc. For instance I've never heard of that site you linked too. lol. Cheers though it looks useful!

      :)
