HoP Idol no more

Yes I'm afraid all the rumours are true, I am Matt War... no, only kidding! However, I have withdrawn myself from the HoP Idol competition for a number of personal reasons, that I don't really want to go into on this here blog. Suffice to say, I don't think I was able to commit to giving the competition the attention it desrves, especially as the remaining contestants will have been giving it their all, and well continuing to do any less myself would've been insulting. I think it's fair to say that now I've dropped out of the running it'll be a much 'closer' competition. Because lets be honest, I've romped to run away victories in weeks 1, 2 and 3... and not all of the votes can be from my mom! Of course I jest, most of them were from my mom.

I genuinely wish the guys and gals at HoP all the best, that's Laby, Dethtron, Lo, GMort, SinSynn and who is that other blogger they have? I'm sure there was one more! Maybe not... only kidding Brent too.  I also genuinely wish all the contestants well in their future endeavors in the competition as well. Also, to those of you who took the time to actually read my entries (God only knows why you did) and then after I'd put you through all that torture, to actually vote for me!?!? Can I just say thanks for thinking my articles were worthy of your vote, and a big sorry for not being able to carry on in the competition. I'd just ask you all to believe me when I say that the reasons for me withdrawing from the competition are pretty good ones, and very important to me. Peace out!

  1. I hope it's nothing serious and you'll still be blogging. I read pretty much everything here and think you contribute a lot with your posts.

  4. To add what the others said I hope it's nothing too bad/long term. Good luck going forward and I hope you can continue/return to the blog

  5. @Porky, I'll still be blogging here, but I think it'll be fair to say I'd be overly optimistic if I thought it wasn't going to have an effect on the frequency of my blogging here. I'll try to keep fresh content regularly cycling on these pages at least. It's just that I felt I could no longer give the HoP Idol contest the attention it, and the other contestants deserved.

@Lord Azaghul, lol, nothing much mate. Its the Blogging network I am part of. The House of Paincakes. They're holding a competition at the moment to find a new writer. I aced week 1 and 2 with run away victories it's fair to say... and I was almost certainly heading into week 4 on the back of another storming success. Alas I've decided it was time to walk.

@Papa JJ, I've actually had a really rough couple of years, not only with my job but also my own health, but thankfully it's neither of those problems rearing their ugly heads again... although I still remain on the hunt for gainful employment. No this is another curve ball life has thrown at me. You get them every now and then :)

@Ishibei, as I've said to the others, I'll definitely be continuing the FG blog. Although I apologise in advance if content updates get somewhat erratic, for the next few weeks / months. Not too much I can do about that.

Yer a talented cat, and I'll be here to read whatever the hell it is you care to bless us with....and I'll prolly leave lengthy, rant-filled comments on every post.
    :)

    Hope all is well, brother.
Go on with yer bad self.

  8. @Lord Azaghul, PMSL, I'm glad my blog is useful for something. Even if it's not good for your productivity levels!!!

@HOTPanda, no need to be sad mate, at least you've gone another week in the competition. :P Although you were probably looking safe any way on votes.

@SinSynn, again thanks for the compliment, and your rant filled comments are always more than welcome.

  9. Was hoping it was going to come down to you and me...with you winning as you clearly deserved it. Hoping I can win it for you instead now.

  10. @HOTPanda, it seems most people had assumed that I would've have won the competition in the end, but honestly nothing in life is certain. Especially not when public votes are concerned. I'm not arrogant enough to have assumed it was a foregone conclusion. I'd clearly had some pretty good weeks in 1 and 2 and week 3 was looking the same, although I could've had absolute stinkers in weeks 4 and if I made it week 5. I'll keep a keen eye on the competition from here on out though, and I might even continue my weekly summing up. Peace out!

  11. Good luck with that thing life - I've had a few curveballs this year too, that's for sure. I'm going to be optimistic and assume that you've just had an opportunity come along that needs a lot of hard work to make the most of!

I'm glad you'll still be blogging here at least.

  12. @James S, sadly it's not the sort of thing that just 'sorts' itself out. I just need to be 'available' to my family at short notice, and I can't commit to regular posts / updates right now. More important things out there.
